Hey!

I just recently bought an 'intel core i5 3570' to upgrade from my 'intel i3 2130' and as you have seen from the title. I am getting 3 continous beeps and no start up?

I initially thought it was my Ram, yet when reverting the I5 to I3 it ran perfectly?

I then began to belive my Ram and CPU were not compatible however the I5 needs minimum 8GB of RAM to run which i do have?

Any ideas? If so please let me know, my dad recently bought me this upgrade apart of just upgrading my really bad PC bit by bit and I dont want to have to return it.

Thanks a million 🙂

I think three beeps might be a memory problem...but I was asking also to make sure you didn't need a different BIOS for the i5. With an Intel board...I'm not sure how to tell though...sorry.

Sorry i worked out the exact motherboard - its an Intel Desktop Board DH61CR. Apparently it support the I5 3570.

I worked that out here: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel/DH61CR.html

Yeah i also thought it was memory, but I have enough RAM? Im not sure how this could be.

Any other ideas?

It requires BIOS version 42 or above to be installed according to that. What BIOS version is installed?
