So i just bought a new cpu and cooler because the last one overheated. With my old cpu it had 95degrees when playing warzone and now 50 so i thought i fixed it, then i turned the pc off and back on then it jumped 95 degrees at start up. Nothing running, not playing games and it says 95, with my old one i had atleast 60. So i don't know whats going on
Help would be appreciated

My specs are:
Windows 11 64 bit
Amd ryzen 5 3600
RTX 1080ti
16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR4
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2

What is your CPU cooler model?

What is your case model?

How many case fans are installed and EXACTLY where are each of them installed, exactly which direction (intake/exhaust, aka, in/out) is each fan oriented AND what are the models of those fans if possible?

What was the model of the CPU you replaced?

What is the currently installed motherboard BIOS version?

WHAT, exactly, are you using to monitor the CPU core temperatures?

Why was the last one "overheating"?

So i just bought a new cpu and cooler because the last one overheated. But the temperature is still 95 degrees when i start the pc up. When the pc is idle and nothing is playing in the background it says 95, when i start playing a game it goes above 100.

My cpu cooler is Artic Freezer 34 esports duo
case model is sharkoon TK5M
i have 4 extra fans
The fans just came with the sharkoon case no idea which model
The old cpu was a AMD ryzen 5 3600 and i replaced it with the same one because it´s very cheap now and it's a decent cpu.
I use speccy and CPUID HWmonitor to check temperatures.
I still have the same problems, even higher temperatures with the new one and it reaches 105 degrees while gaming and idle 95.

what are you using to cool the CPU?

what thermal paste are you using and how are you applying it?

what case are you using and how is the system-wide cooling setup;
how many fans, what make & model fans, where are they located and what direction are they positioned?
I have a Artic Freezer 34 esports duo as cooler. The thermal paste is MAXTOR CTG8
Case is sharkoon TK5M, 4 extra fans that came with the case.

Do NOT use HWmonitor. Use HWinfo or Core Temp. For starters.

Since this is not the same CPU cooler, not the same mount job and not the same paste job as before there are very few reasons why this would happen. One, you are monitoring the wrong thermal sensor or HW monitor is reporting the wrong sensor, which would not be surprising. Two, there is an issue with your mounting hardware or backplate kit not being installed correctly all the way around.

Three, didn't take the plastic off the bottom of the heatsink before installing.

Four, there is a problem with your motherboard fan header OR your cooling curve.
