New cpu worries.

I just went from a E5200 to a Q9300 quad and i have some concerns.
My new fan cam DOA so i used my old E5200 stock i was worried about heating so i ran some temp programs and there showing 45c (thats not at load no load temps yet ) is it possible for a old stock fan to keep it that cool or is it probly a error.
My second problem is although some programs say i have my old E5200 and some say that i am indeed runing a quad all the programs only show temps for 2 processors. And my final problem is when i ran speed fan it said my first hard drive was runing at 255 C again thats C NOT F i checked is that possible i would think not.

also after some load tests im seeing some pretty high numbers like 65-69 c are these numbers safe. and im still unable to get all 4 cores to run

what motherboard do you have? it may need a BIOS update before it can accept the Q9300, if that is the case, put the old E5200 back in and update the BIOS to a version that supports the Q9300, then put in the q9300.
