I'm new to the world of gaming pc's and wanted to buy a cheap pc just as a test to see if I would switch from console to computer. I subsequently bought a gaming pc of my own. It is a pre-built computer that I purchased from amazon (link below) and I therefore did not need to install any of the components myself.

When I started the computer up, it launched me to the 'Asus UEFI BIOS Utility' and I was greeted with this screen:

As you can see there are unusual pink lines appearing in columns on the display. I plugged my HDMI cable into a different monitor but I was greeted by the same result. I then switched to a different HDMI cable, but the lines were still there, meaning that it was the computer playing up, and not my equipment.

I ignored the lines and continued to install Windows 8.1 (64-bit) on the PC, but to my despair, the lines were still present, even in an operating system (see below):

I have only had the computer for a few days, and haven't downloaded much apart from google chrome; I am pretty certain that the lines are not due to a virus.

The specs of the PC are contained in the link below, and I would be very grateful for any feedback or advice on the problem.

Thanks

The R7 265 takes HDMI and DVI, but my monitors are HDMI and VGA so I can't try a different type of cable. I have however, used a different HDMI cable but still got the same result.

I also have just reseated the GPU, but the pink lines are still there.

Is the graphics card faulty then?

Thanks for your help :) I am an amateur at this sort of thing, and I really appreciate your advice!
