Ok, I'm in the process of planning out a new build to bring me up to date with modern gaming, and so far I have this setup planned:

CPU: INTEL Core i5 Ivy Bridge 3570K

RAM: Corsair 1600mhz 2x 4Gb

Video: AMD Radeon HD7850

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-D3H (trying to work out whether I need this, or can go with the cheaper GA-Z77-D3H)

Is this a good build? This will be my first time assembling a computer myself, so I'm nervous of making a costly mistake, and with the amount of reading I'm doing It feels like all the numbers are blending together. :p

Anyway, I'll really appreciate and advice or criticisms you have.

Attempted to edit OP to come into line with DeusAres suggestion, but the website refused to let me edit my post, and after I spent ages filling out the template. :p

Anyway, budget is 550-600 Euro, And I'm re-using the shell of my old system (monitor, harddrives, PSU) PSU is a G7 Power Extreme at 680 watts.

Alright then, that's really all we needed to know. Thank you.

Judging from your username and currency, I'm going to assume you are in the UK area. Is this correct?

Here's my build recommendation...

Will you need a case? Or are you going to re-use your old case? Also, do you need an optical drive and an operating system?
