New GeForce GT 630 card issues

Hi there,

I just bought a new GT 630 2GB graphics card to replace the 1GB card that came with my Gateway LX6810-01. Installed yesterday, updated drivers, worked wonderful yesterday and last night. This morning though I wake up to find the display completely unusable upon startup. See the following:

My system is a Gateway LX 6810-01 with the following:

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz
8GB RAM
64-Bit Windows 7 Operating System

Recently I installed a Silverstone Strider 600W Power Supply, to replace the OEM 500W power supply. Really should be more than enough I would think.

I also purchased a GeForce GT610 1GB graphics card for my sons computer, to replace his old 512MB graphics card. I bought that a week ago and we're having no issues. I took that card out and put it into my Gateway PCI slot and everything is running fine. I am composing this message with this 1GB GT610 graphics card.

I suppose that rules out slot issues?

Any thoughts or suggestions? The card and gaming was working so wonderful last night.

Looks to be a bad memory chip on the card.
RMA time. Or return it to the store for replacement.

Thanks for your prompt reply! I am contacting the seller who I am sure will be helpful but I did want to perform some due diligence ahead of time.

I don't know what kind of gaming you do, and the 630GT might be the perfect card for you, but it's actually a rebranded 440GT http://www.anandtech.com/show/5845/nvidia-launches-fermi-based-geforce-gt-610-gt-620-gt-630-into-retail

The most inexpensive "new" 600 series card is the GTX650. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-n650md1gd5oc This one by MSI is currently 74 dollars (after rebate) and has dropped down to 69 at least twice before.

I would recommend upgrading to the 650 or higher (including the new 700 series) when you see one that's on a good sale.

The GT630 isn't a Good Graphics Card for Gaming, unless you don't play Demanding games.
