Solution
i know but my gpu goes up to 4ghz with 8 threads i think thats enough for cs
CS? CS: GO?
That game prefers cpus with strong single core performance. Doesn't care too much about the gpu.
It runs off of just 4 threads - someone correct on this if it's wrong.

For the settings you want to run, a GTX 1660 was not an upgrade.
A 9700K + Z390 motherboard + 2x 8GB 3600mhz ram would've been.

Let's start with your full system specs including brand and model.

You're gonna have to tell us the games you play and in what game you have 180-250FPS and at what resolution/Hz.

Did you uninstall the drivers before adding your new GPU? Did you use DDU?

uuuh i dont think so , i just unplugged my old gpu , plugged the new one , intalled the drivers with the CD that came with the GPU

Damn no wonder you have problems ;)

Please download DDU - https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2608
Download the latest drivers for your GPU on the official website. Don't use outdated drivers from the CD.

  • Start DDU and choose "reboot in safe mode"
  • While in safe mode start DDU and choose at the right "Nvidia"
  • Click on "Clean and reboot" recommended option
  • After the reboot install the drivers package you downloaded. Do not install Geforce Experience with it.
  • Reboot.
  • Try again.

OK REPORT.

frames wouldnt go further than 250 and now are reachings theyre limit but im having some fps drops for some seconds mid game
You installed the most recent driver for your card? With your monitor are you using a Display port cable? or HDMI? also make sure when you are checking your resolution adjustments you are using the one that allows you to pick 240HZ and im not sure if that Monitor has G-Sync or not but if it does turn off V-sync in your in game settings.
