Recently bought a Brand need Gygabyte Gtx 1080 oc and since installation I’ve been getting random PC restarts while playing some games. It seems to be completely random as I might not happen for a while then all of a sudden it happens without warning, as performance isn’t effected prior or after a restart occurs. I’ve ruled out overheating as I’ve seen it restart when the card is only about 72C which I think is ok. My previous card was a Radeon 270 and never had the isssue my specs are:
GPU: Gigabyte GYX 1080 Wind Force Oc
PSU: Corsair vs650
Processor: intel i5-4590 CPU
Motherboard: MSI z87-G41 PC mate
Ram: 16gb HyperX blu (4x 4gb sticks)
My initial thought was a faulty power supply as when my pc restarts there are no crash screens or freezes or nothing almost like someone just switches my power point off then on and also PC part picker said that none of my components had combatibility issues. My PSU is also 4 years old, so I’m curious as to if it’s possible for it to decrease efficiency or something over this time? And how do I test for this. Doing my research there are a number of different causes for my same issue.
