New graphic Card

Hi I bought a new graphic card gtx 960 4gb to replace my old gpu gt520. But after replacing the card the screen doesn't get passed the boot menu. It starts for 20secs and then turns it's self off and again starts and keeps repeating the process. My pc boots normally with the old card. My bios is updated. Please help!

My rig:
RAM: Dynet 1x4 gb, adata 1x4 gb(1333)total 8gb
Motherboard: ECS H61H2M-17 v1.0
Psu: Corsair vs 550w
Processor: i3-2100k 3.1 Ghz
Hdd: WD caviar green 1Tb

did you connect the 6pin?

Try both sticks of RAM separately in slot one and see if it will boot with the 960. It could be something to do with the BIOS but give that a go first and let me know what happens

Yup I connected the 6-pin. The led is on of the Graphic Card

Your BIOS may need to be updated, I've never had to do it myself to make a GPU work but it's possible that that is the issue.

Yep probably thats the Issue

When the h61 Chipset was released not even gtx 7xx were out..

Your BIOS may need to be updated, I've never had to do it myself to make a GPU work but it's possible that that is the issue.

I tried updating the bios but it says that the latest version is installed and no new updates available

Other Psu? I bought a brand new vs 550 watt... Recommended was 450w but mine is 550 watt

So you also installed a new PSU? Take the GPU out and try using integrated graphics, this will let you know if it's a problem with the GPU and it's install or something else

Yup pc boots normally on integrated graphics

I found the solution.. My motherboard supports only upto Geforce 500 series.. I tired a gt610 and it didn't boot up
So now please remove a cheap motherboard which will run gtx 960 4gb ddr5 in it. Thank you

Τhe cheapest asus/gigabyte/asrock/msi H81 Motherboard would be Good

But try RMA first
