Playing Doom 3, no more than 5 Minutes, and the screen goes like this:

Did the same on the desktop for the first minute while i was doing the screeny, okay now. Card is brand new x850XT, clean install of XP.

Asus A7V880
Athlon xp 3000+
1Gb crucial ram (2x512 in DC)
Nothing overclocked.

So what do you rekon the problem is? Or is it just worth RMA'ing it?

That doesn't look good at all. If its' overheating then get better ventilation for your pc. But I doubt it, because graphics card chip can run way hotter. Unlike the cpu the gpu take the nvidia for example a 7800 has a temp threshold of 115c*, that's pretty hot but it would still run like it soppuse to. Try removing and reinstalling the driver and get better vent in your pc. If that doesn't work then RMA it while you still can.

Oddly, it did it once, so i rebooted, did it again, when i took the SS. but just been playing again for bout 30 mins on multiplayer over the net, and been fine. When it did it the fan didnt even pick up any off low. gonna test it with some new games. And i have installed the lastest Doom 3 release now. I'll post back if it carries on playing up.

Well after 2 hours of UT2004 (God that game will never grow old) its fine. But seen as its easter holidays, and im not at college for the next two weeks i think that i should just intensivly test it for 2 weeks. 😀

Similar prob with my 7900GTX - eVGA concluded it was a memory problem. Try starting it up in safe mode to see if it's software or hardware.
