I recently bought new gtx 750ti after I installed it and all I started some games (grim dawn / skyrim) every games works on high settings like a dream for less than 5 minutes and it either slow down (very low fps) or I get that error ( display driver has stopped responding and had recovered ) which crashes the game directly or make it freeze
-- some times my external hdd do wierd stuff like disconnect and reconnect or make sounds but this started happening way before buying the graphics card which makes me suspect the psu

My specs :
Ga g41mt s2pt rev2.1
4ddr3 ram
C2d 3.0 ghz
Psu 1000watt generic (4 years old )

--I know the CPU is weak I was willing to change with good c2quad later to avoid any bottleneck

Any help is appreciated

No I didn't overclock I just installed the gpu in the motherboard and start the pc then installed the latest driver but the gpu is galax gtx 750ti exoc ( already overclocked though )

I also thought it was the psu. I used to be a gamer like you but I took a bad gpu to the knee. now after buying a better gpu, no issues like that. but really? gtx 750ti? and still underpowered? are you sure you plug it in properly?

Hmm...if you have your old gpu still plug it back in and on the pc...

Use this program called display driver uninstaller and uninstall the old drivers and new one

LINK:- http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Then remove the old gpu and put in the 750 ti and on the pc and download the latest drivers from the nvidiea site...

After you do this come back and tell us if it worked...

I called the seller and he told me that I need to change the psu as it's the reason that's what he said , l'm not sure though, my eyes burns l've been doing researches two days straight so can someone who's expert asure wiether it's the psu or not

Well can be many things.
Just go to the local shop buy a psu, test it, if it doesnt help and same thing happen again with new psu just bring it back to the shop and get your money back, dunno about your country but here we have 14 days money back garantee. Did this couple of times in the past just to check hardware :S

Hmm....i don't trust these conputer shop people..a 750 ti needs no 6pin connector so you could run it on the world's worst psu....if it was a 950 or something..sure something is wrong with the psu but its a 750 ti....so nah...and hey...that ddu thing...... Boot the pc using intergrated graphics and delete the drivers using the program...

It's the galax Exoc version it actually needs a 6pin connector also they are a company not just a computer shop , the proplem now is that they are in a city and I'm in a different one so I can't just return the card to them to check it so my best shot is that the psu is faulty so any advice on psu brand or so , and by the way thanks for the help everyone
