Test it out in actual games and make note of how much FPS you get at a specific setting and resolution. You can use MSI Afterburner for this. You could use the in-built benchmarks provided in some games too.
Compare this data to review results on reputable sites and authentic youtube gameplay videos of the GTX 750 GPU in the games you tested. If the results match by more than 90% then it isn't a fake.
However, since this is from a "no-name" brand. It could fail after working for a few months or show high temperatures like more than 75C which would be highly unusual for a budget and low TDP card like this. So monitor that as well. So be prepared for the possibility of the card suddenly dying on you. If it shows high temperatures then remove it immediately from your system as it could cause an accident that would be dangerous for you and your PC.
On second thought, find a reliable Youtube video or Review and test the games they tested with the same settings and resolution. That should make comparing data easier. If you get similar results then you'll know that the card isn't a fake. However, my concerns regarding temps and reliability still stand so check those and take appropriate measures.
Everyone else just ran the fan shroud past the PCB edge.
Theres a good chance its an old 500/600 series card with hacked bios data
That screenshot from gpu-z is certainly not that card or it wouldn't have Asus as the manufacturer
Agreed. This is suspicious. I missed the Asus reference in the initial post, rather just looked at the numbers. It would be interesting to pull the fan off and see what is actually hidden underneath.
Too bad I can't cancel the order anymore. It has been shipped. Lesson learn, don't but something you know is far below the recommended retail price, no matter how irresistible.
Let me try it out first with caution. Else I would need a brand new pc which cost me 2500usd
what is the ideal temperature for a gpu?
the MSI afterburner showed that it was 60C in average when running on titanfall 2, after i had replaced my old asus gtx 560 directcu ii to the gtx750 i purchased above.
Based on google:
What is the maximum safe temperature for a GPU?
NVIDIA GPU maximum operating temperature and overheating. NVIDIA GPUs are designed to operate reliably up to their maximum specified operating temperature. This maximum temperature varies by GPU, but is generally in the 105C range (refer to the nvidia.com product page for individual GPU specifications)
Thanks for prompt reply. As far as the graphic concern, it was running well throughout the 4hours of titanfall 2 gameplay.
however, i haven't yet put it on wolfenstein 2 which i couldn't even play it with my gtx 560. anyway, gtx560 is dying on most of the games.
To be honest, i actually wanted to get a new set of pc with asus gtx 1080 TI, but realized that it will be wasted to decomm the pc as it is still in good working condition. So I spent 150USD for RAM increasing and graphic card upgrade and hopefully it would last for another 2 years.
