Hello all .
Hope I can get a little help . So I got a PC for free the motherboard is a x99-m-ws so when I got it home it was turning on and off on till I powered it off . There was a blue light come on the cpu diag led on the motherboard it's self so I was doing some research and then I did a bios flashback with the usd and the flashback button on the back. I'm sure it went good cuz I made it farther. The motherboard don't turn off now I still get 0.0 on the q.code little square. But the cpu little blue light goes out and the one for the VGA comes on and off and now the blue light for the diag led for the HDD is on and don't go out there is now fans going so the cpu heats up kinda fast the fan for cpu not going neither and on my tv where it looks like the post screen should come on I get a ...(. - ) All most in the middle of the screen near the top . I just have the one 8 pin pluged in for the cpu there is too but if I plug too in it don't turn on . So will I need the two 8 pin connector in ?

Motherboard -- x99-m-ws
Cpu-- i7 5820k
Power supply-- 800w silent pro gold --- working pulled from other pc
Ram Samsung 32gb X2
3 fan on case 1 for cpu so 4
Gpu rtx 3060 12gb

Thanks for taking the time to read and maybe send some tips or what it could be if you need any info I can give to you .I'm at a lost what it could be. I know some stuff about PC but I'm sure there alot on here that know more. ...

Thanks again

That PSU by my calcs should be 15 years old by now. You should source(borrow, not buy) a reliably built unit and see if the issue persists.

Ram Samsung 32gb X2
You will need to clarify what these sticks of ram are. Pass on images of the stickered info that are shown on the ram sticks. While you're at it, you can try with one stick of ram;

in slot B1.

Did you clear the CMOS after verifying that the BIOS was successfully flashed? Speaking of flashed, what version did you flash the BIOS with?

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

If your getting ( - ) on the top left of the screen your posting.

Clear the CMOS like Lutfij suggested. Now to test if there is a working OS on the SSD/ or hard drive.

If there was a OS it could be in BIOS needing correct boot order.

BIOS needs to be set correct. UEFI or put into legacy , depends on IF there was an OS how it was installed under.

So for the power supply I pulled from a PC that run fine with prime x470 serIes motherboard with Rx 580 but I can get a better one if needed . ( Like I said I get alot of my stuff for free and I don't have background on it ) For the ram it is ram out of a server it 32gb 2rx4 -pc4-2666-rb2-12-db1 I'm sure it is ecc. I have gaming ram I can try. I'll try the one stuck as you said . for the bios it used was x99-m-ws -se-asus-3003. I don't think it worked with the 4001 newest where I watch a video and he said that some motherboard don't like to jump too many updates for the bios so work your way up to the newest one

And I did clear I CMOS push the button for a few sec

Okay will do I'll have to put it all together and will give it a shot thanks for the fast help I'll post back in 👍👍
Okay so I got it all back together, I did put the one stuck of ram ( normal ballistic 8g (3000MHz in on slot b1 I did a nother Bois flash just to be sure. X99-M-WS-ASUS-3101 and renamed it X99MWS as what the manual says. The flash was good. Fast flashing with the light and then out. Pulled the usd out and help the CMOS button in will I hit the power on for a few sec and let go I'm still stuck to diag HDD light stays on and the (-) near the left top as stonecarver said .

If the bios chip was bad it wouldn't do the flash am I right?

Could I get a working os on a different SSD and try that ? Even know it would be setup for a different motherboard and bios ??

Thanks again for the help
