New hard drive setup

Thanks to HH and his FAQ posts. It convinced me to not try a Gigabyte BIOS
upgrade to my Presario 5460 to allow use of a new 80GB drive. I did have to
get a bigger power supply than the puny 95watt one which came with the
machine. I did go with an added PCI EIDE card and the install went well.
Thank you for setting me on the straight and narrow before making a big
mistake.

Glad to help. Reading the FAQ is something everyone should do, but many do
not. It can prevent numerous headaches.

Shame on me for wanting some of the credit--I was the one who suggested you
expand on that subject and advise folks on the significant risk they took in
BIOS flashes, particularly non-Compaq ones. Glad to see that combined we may
have well save at least one user from a dead PC.
