New Homepage Feedback Round 3

Page 13 - Seeking answers? Join the Tom's Hardware community: where nearly two million members share solutions and discuss the latest tech.
The new website requires me to enable off-site scripts. This is not something I am interested in doing. I will not be using Tom's Hardware until such a time that I can browse it with only tomshardware.com and tomshardware.co.uk whitelisted in noscript.

(I disable adblock for it, of course, as I do with all websites that I think provide useful service. Ads are the only way you can make money off me.)

New layout is great.. but Mobile page sucks!! it never up to date.. it takes like a day or so before it gets updated.. i say just remove it!!

At the bottom of each post on the forums (fora?) there's a box for Quick Reply. It used to have a "Post this Reply" button next to it, but not now. The only way to post a reply now is to ignore the Quick Reply box and click on the "Add a Reply" button below the last post. In other words, the "Quick Reply" box is useless.

OOOPS! All of a sudden the "Submit your ..." box IS there. Ignore this post, please.

I am not a big fan of the new format. When I go to the home page, I do so to read the current crop of "front page" articles. These are now relegated to thumbnails at the top. The news section in the previous home page was probably a little small. The forums section on the home page is 100% redundant with the forums page! But, that is just my opinion (you asked).

"No old message in this section.

You need to use at least one time "Mark all as old" to be able to use the command "New topics since last marking as old"

Tom's has got to change that. It's nothing but a pain in the ass. I can't find any "Mark all as old" button so, I can't start a new thread anywhere even though I've gone through several threads.

Hey,

I guess I got used to it. It was hard for me, now its OK.

Can't say that about yahoo sports, still sucks.

I want a much higher level of information density, but thats just me.

The search function is still poor, I recall an article about Standby Vs Hibernate Vs Off, with regards to start times and power consumption. Can't find it. Google Can't find it.

Yes the search could be improved, first thing that comes to the mind is "sorting by the date"

Maybe the article was deleted, since even mr.Google didn't find it : )

Adds didn't bother me, the lay out did, but I like this now. Took me 2 months.

Not sure if this is the right place, but the Samsung ad that pops up on every.single.page is quite annoying. I can understand that you need to advertise, but every page I have to scroll back to the top 2 seconds in to clear the page of that dreadful "tinted window" ad!

Thanks! :hello:
