So here is my build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/bq28LD

That is my current setup. I have made a rookie mistake and just purchased the i7-7700K CPU. Yes the CPU is 1151 socket and my mobo is 1150 socket.

I have just put my build on here, removed my mobo and cpu, inputted the new i7 cpu and I get the following notes:

The Kingston - HyperX Fury White 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory operating voltage of 1.5V exceeds the Intel Kaby Lake-S CPU recommended maximum of 1.35V+5% (1.417V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.35V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.

Now when I add a 1151 socket mobo, I get the following message on top of the above message: Some Intel B150 (or H170 etc) chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake-S CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

Any help be much appreciated!

and one more thing b150 and h170 motherboard supports only ddr4 ram
if you are going to buy a unlocked processor i would recommend you to buy z170 motherboard

if you want to oc your cpu then go for msi z170m mortar link - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Htp323/msi-motherboard-z170mmortar

but if you are not going to oc your cpu then go for msi b150m mortar link -
1. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/3RKhP6/msi-b150m-mortar-arctic-micro-atx-lga1151-motherboard-b150m-mortar-arctic
2. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/kGcMnQ/msi-motherboard-b150mmortar

and get a locked processor if not oc it don't waste your money

You buy a Z270 board their no way to update the BIOS without a working PC.
The memory you have linked is out of stock for the 120 bucks and is 165 at other sites so get faster emeory.

I don't understand what you mean about the Z270?

I have only just noticed the £120 out of stock 🙁 I don't want to pay more almost £200 for RAM. I'm thinking of keeping DDR3 8GB RAM for now unless the £120 DDR4 16GB comes into stock.

go for this motherboard
1. MSI - Z270-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (Z270-A PRO) link - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/KvvZxr/msi-z270-a-pro-atx-lga1151-motherboard-z270-a-pro
2. MSI - Z270 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (Z270 GAMING PLUS) link - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/JbmxFT/msi-z270-gaming-plus-atx-lga1151-motherboard-z270-gaming-plus

and ddr3 ram does't work with these motherboard
ram go for these
1. G.Skill - Flare X 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory link - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/BX7CmG/gskill-flare-x-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-2133-memory-f4-2133c15d-16gfxr
2. G.Skill - FORTIS 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory link - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/hwPzK8/gskill-memory-f42133c15d16grr

?

it is a good memory.

i just give you a option as the last memory was out of stock.

thank you for your help!

every thing is super duper good but go for liquid cooling as you are going to overclock your cpu

i dont want to overclock

then go for a cheaper motherboard like msi b250m mortar why are you spending more money

ok it is £10 cheaper

so i went for this setup:
