Hi there! I purchased a new M.2 SSD SATA 1TB (WDS100T1B0B) to replace my old SSD 240GB, and after i place it in my MSI z170a gaming m3 mobo, my computer can't boot properly... not even access to BIOS menu. Just keep restarting.

I tried both SSD at first and then only the new SSD M.2.

Any suggestions?

You are correct, I even checked the manual. Bad on newegg LoL

1 x M.2 port (PCIe 3.0 x4)
M.2 port supports 4.2cm/ 6cm/ 8cm length module

Ok, make sure sata ports 1 & 2 are not in use. A sata drive in the m2 slot conflicts with those 2 ports according to pg33 of the Manual.

From the official page:
“M.2 SLOT
1 x 2280 Key M(PCIe Gen3 x4/SATA)”

That means it’s compatible with both SATA and PCIe, right?
