SO i have this Team Group MS30 M.2 2280 512GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) TM8PS7512G0C101
mind you this is a complete brand new rig i just put together using this ASRock B450M PRO4 AM4 AMD Promontory B450 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M Pro4/ <- link to motherboard website if ya need more info on it

also this mother board has 2 m2280 slots on it one says ultra m2 slot on it not sure if this matters but that is the one my storage is plugged into anyways ya a little help would be good. thanks

Solution
  • 4 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s Connectors, support RAID (RAID 0, RAID 1 and RAID 10), NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug*
  • 1 x Ultra M.2 Socket (M2_1), supports M Key type 2242/2260/2280 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s) (with Matisse, Picasso, Summit Ridge, Raven Ridge and Pinnacle Ridge) or Gen3 x2 (16 Gb/s) (with Athlon series APU)**
  • 1 x M.2 Socket (M2_2), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module

The M.2 SATA SSD you're trying to install cannot be installed in the M2_1. This is only for PCIe M.2 SSD.

You have to use M2_2 for that SATA M.2 to work.
Knowing what the actual problem you are having is would be good as well, since the only CLUE to what is going on you offer is that it is "not present", and that would seem to indicate that it is not showing up somewhere but since you don't outline WHERE the drive is not being seen, BIOS, Windows, Linux disto, whatever, then we have to guess, and guessing doesn't lead to reliable answers.

not being shown in bios or when i try to install win 10 lol im just gonna try to plug it into the other slot because in the bios it says ultra m2 slot is for pci and nvme m2.2280 and the other one is a shared sata m2 slot
