Meh. If Mac wants to dominate they have to allow clones. Their tight control, high prices, and poor developer relations keep people on PCs. Without Steve Jobs now there is no other way, otherwise Mac will fade away again. I don't really like OSX, or the the Mac designs, but alot of people do. If Apple competed better with Microsoft then Microsoft would be forced to have lower prices on their OS, as well as be forced to make a better OS. I think that pressure from Linux, and maybe a feather of pressure from BSD, has forced Microsoft to make a more secure, if not annoying, OS. Still that hasn't really forced Microsoft to compete on the OS UI. If they had to compete with OSX on more even footing, then Microsoft really would have to put in innovations that people like, rather than "Ooo, that's cool. Lets put that in there. Who cares if the user complains. Like they have a choice" 😀.
