I installed a new motherboard on my computer tonight but I'm getting the BSOD when windows loads. Somtimes i see just a glimpse of the windows xp green status bar (before windows loads) then i get the BSOD and other times it will just go from loading the the BIOS to BSOD.

It's telling me to check my hard disk and disk controllers, however i have everything set up correctly to the best of my knowledge.

I am using a Gigabit K8NS Ultra-939 Mobo. Any ideas would greatly help.

You're using Windows XP aren't you?

Yeh, I missed that because I was skimming posts again, tell him to do an over-instal of XP.

Ok, a more detailed explanation.

You probably didn't do a clean Windows installation but tried to transfer it to a new mainboard which won't work. Reinstall Windows, backup the old data and get rid of the old installation.

thank you guys for the responses. I'll do a fresh install...i'm glad i put windows xp on my 80 GB HD which has nothing on it and put everything else on my 160 and 250's.

You guys are the best!
