I'm upgrading my PC to a new motherboard, graphics card, cpu, and ram. I got the H310M S2p and i5 8400.

I successfully installed all parts, all working. Except I cannot get the USB ports to work with my keyboard and mouse. I understand that its because of windows 7, but I do not have windows 10 and I know there are ways to get it working.

What are the ways that I can get them working, I can't figure it out.

Solution
you may need an old ps/2 keyboard (not the console by sony)

the motherboards USB drivers are not part of windows 7, so windows 7 has no idea if the USB controller is a GPU or a sound card and as the input devices are USB...

you could try slipstreaming the drivers into the ISO

this will add the needed drivers to the windows driver cache and then windows will know that the USB is USB.

This... during installation it will ask you for a key but there's a option of the bottom of the screen that says "I don't have a Key", select that and continue the install. You lose some personalizing options but will still receive important updates and security updates for Windows Defender.
