New mobo

Hi, thanx for any help ahead of time.
I upgrade to new tower/mobo/memory/cpu. aaaaamd Duron 1800
It's a Chaintech 7NJL6 nVidia Socket A ATX Motherboard.
I put in an WD 20 gig hD. Boots up fine in WIN2000.
When I restart and add slave Maxtor D740X-6L HD it locks up.
Also system is not recognizing CPU speed as 1.8Ghz.
System is recognizing as 1.33Ghz.
Any help?

Are you sure you connected all things right?
Did you set the multiplier to the correct level?

Prolly a HDD jumper problem. When a WD hardrive is on an IDE channel by itself, the jumper must be removed (i.e., no jumper when a WD HDD is "master" by itself).

When you add another HDD as a "slave" to the IDE channel with the WD, you must add a jumper to the WD HDD and set it as "master"
