Hello,

I recently swapped to a new Asus Prime X570-P Ryzen 3 AM4 with PCIe Gen4, Dual M.2 HDMI, SATA 6GB/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 ATX Motherboard. Here is the manual for the specific board: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/PRIME_X570-P/E15650_PRIME_X570-P_UM_WEB_V2.pdf and specifically pg 50.

I'm using a logitech z506 5.1 audio set up, here is the manual for this piece: https://www.logitech.com/assets/33015/4/z506620-002649005326gsamr.pdf

On my previous board, the audio worked fine; so I'm confident in my connections and set up. However, on the new board when I go to Sounds > Playback > Configure it always only shows a Stereo option instead of 5.1 audio.

I've tried going to device manager and uninstalling the speakers in an attempt for the situation to sort of fix itself, but that didn't help.

Pretty much, depending on whether I put the rear or front speaker plug into my Line Out insert of the motherboard, those are the two speakers I get (the subwoofer always works). No matter how I put the plugs (rather correctly according to the manual, or just trying them 1 by 1 and 2 by 2, etc), I cannot get Windows in the configuration to show a 5.1 option.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

You might not have installed the Realtek drivers for the sound controller and the system have the basic Windows audio drivers.
Make sure to download the AMD chipset drivers for your motherboard, then download and install the Realtek audio drivers.

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-X570-P/HelpDesk_Download/

Even without any speakers connected you should be able to switch from Stereo, 5.1 Surround & 7.1 Surround.
