New msi GTX 970 show up under display adapter as "Standard VGA graphics adapter" and my computer won't allow me to install my nvidia's drivers. Please help?

It's showing up as "Standard VGA graphics adapter" because you don't have the drivers. How does your computer prevent you from installing Nvidia's drivers?

Everytime I attempt to install the required drivers, it says "Nvidia Installer failed".

do you have the correct installer for correct Windows version i.e. 32bit vs 64bit, Win 7 vs Win 8.1?

I'm receiving no error message. Every time I attempt to update "Standard VGA graphics adapter's" drivers, it says that they're already updated and it won't allow me to manually install the drivers myself.

Download DDU Video Driver Remover and get rid of what is already in there.

Then install the drivers.
