Question New NVME SSD being recognised as a HDD in Windows 7

Hi guys,

Recently bought a WD NVME SN750 SSD and installed Windows 7 on it, the added the right drivers etc so it installed fine etc but the problem I have is it’s only being recognised as a hard drive rather than a SSD.

It does it on Defraggler and when I’ve ran the Windows Experience Index it gives me a high score on the drive but still nothing.

Even on the WD software it can’t seem to find the drive?

It’s there on the device manager however.

Any suggestions?

Ram: 16GB
SSD/HDD: 1Tb WD Black SN750 NVME
GPU: GTX 1060M
OS - Windows 7 Pro

Where are you seeing it listed specifically as a hard disk drive?

BTW - its common for the WD tool to not see the drive. I think you need the older 1.4 version if memory serves me correctly.
