Question New pc build issue - continuous long beeps.

Hi all,

new here but looking for some help. I am bit of a newbie to building pcs and I think I done a stupid thing.
I bought all the components for a starter gaming pc and am having issues.

the pc starts fine but after about 30 seconds it starts to beep. Long beeps and continuous. So..

beeeeeppppppp, beeeeeeeeppppppp, beeeeeepppppp. If you get what I mean. It’s a standard long beep but multiple of them.

everything is brand new, and installed right and checked for compatibility but still this happens. I bought a CPU without a GPU installled and got a GPU for it, but it just doesn’t do anything but the above.


any support would go a long way.

Ok so do you have beeping while windows is showing in dispaly? Or is it when you turn on the pc things come alive, fans spin, but no display is seen and the long beeps start?

Oh and what is your pc build? Motherboard, case, cpu, gpu, psu, drives etc.

hi,

the windows hasn’t been installed yet, so it happens slightly after start up. So I power it on and about 30s later it starts.


the build is all new

gigabyte motherboard
I5 10600k (no GPU)
2x16Gb 3200 RAM (checked compatibility with MB)
126GB ssd - for ops
500 GB M2 SSD
and
AMD 6700 xt GPU

i kind of thought my skills were better than they are, so this happen.

its the Gigabyte H510M S2H Intel Socket 1200 Motherboard.

Count the beeps how many before it stops and starts again?

Also when counting the beeps take notice if they are long beeps, beeeep beeeep, or short beeps, beep beep, or a combination of the two.

Well i got two 8GB 3200 in both slots. the Motherboard only has 2 slots, so i'd say all of them.

The beeps are continuous long individual beeps.

So,

Long beep, break, long beep, break, long beep... and the beeps just keep going and going. No end number.

Ok so remove your memory and reseat them. Make sure the top and bottom tabs snap/close when inserting the memory sticks.

Just tried this and its the same thing.

Ok so try using one stick at a time, to rule out one may be bad. btw what memory are they? I know you said you checked the qvl.

Just about to go try it now. FYI they are
Kingston FURY Beast 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200MHz DDR4

and it states the

Gigabyte H510M S2H Intel Socket 1200 Motherboard

Does accept this speed. it is at the top end, but its accepted.

Seems to be doing the same thing. Going to see if i can find a older 2666 Ram and try that too.

Just asking, when installing the motherboard you did install the offsets? There is a cooling fan installed on the cpu? Did you try using the motherboard display port to hook monitor up to?

Cant et a different RAM, but tried a single one and the issue is still there.

as for offsets, yes, they were already there, except there is 'one' screw/offset that isn't used. basically the motherboard is not attached in one corner as there wasn't an offset hole
there for me to attach too. Can that course an issue? all other holes are screwed in to a offset.

Is that part of the motherboard touching any metal? Try removing the gpu and plug the monitor in to the motherboard video port.

Is your cpu a k or kf model, the k has hd graphics, the kf does not?

Also what psu are you using. Did you check all the psu wire connections, pull and reseat them? Also make sure the cpu 8 pin is connected.
