New PC Build with fresh Windows and factory-issued drivers is having internet issues.

Hi all,

I built a custom PC yesterday. It's running Windows 7 Home Premium. I installed an ASUS PCE-N53 wireless network card, AND tried my friend's ASUS PCE-N15. In both cases, Windows says I'm connected to my network, and that the network has internet connectivity. However, I cannot ping anything outside of the network, webpages won't load, and programs cannot search for drivers online. When I first booted the PC up and got the graphics and motherboard drivers loaded as well as the wireless card, I accessed the internet and downloaded Chrome and AVG AntiVirus. Since then the connection has been spotty at best, even after driver re-installs. Periodically, I will be able to load a webpage flawlessly, but then it goes right back to not working. I'm writing this from the same room on the same wireless connection from my laptop.

DHCP is enabled.
I've tried disabling the Windows Firewall.
The drivers were installed from CD for both wireless cards
ipconfig /all is telling me that I have an IP address, DNS server, etc.

I'm completely stumped as to why this isn't working.

Here's the build:
ASRock z77 Extreme4 MoBo
Intel i5 3570K @ default settings
EVGA GTX770
Kingston RapidX 120GB SSD
WD Blue 1TB HDD
SeaSonic G-Series 750W PSU
and the aforementioned wireless cards

Please help! I've been working on this for hours!

Forgot to mention: when I try loading pages in Chrome the message displayed at the bottom usually says "Establishing secure connection..." and then the browser tells me that the page isn't available. Occasionally the message at the bottom will say "Resolving Host" instead.

Try installing drivers from the ASUS home page instead, they are newer than the ones on the CD.

Both the cards you guys have are cheap and non reliable, try a wired connection. If that works, the problem lies in your wireless cards. Maybe because there is a greater distance than what the cards were intended for or at least doesn't meet the requirements of.

There is something disturbing the radio signal of the wireless cards. Turn off anything that uses radio signals, see if that increases signal strength. (Your laptop and phone too).

Have you tried pinging something inside network. You can also try to transfer a file to another computer, just to be sure the problem is inside of your network.

Disable the AVG _ to test it isnt messing with things
