I'm building my first pc from scratch. After a successful boot to the Bios, I checked around the settings to make sure everything was working before i installed my os. Only the half of my ram was detected by my motherboard. I put all 4 pieces into quad channel arrangement like my motherboard manual said but only the two pieces left of the cpu were actually working. So i shut down and took them out to clean off any dust and tried again but this time it wouldnt boot at all. When i press the power button the fans and leds start working but my monitor never displays anything. Ive even tried using each stick of ram by itself but still wont start. I was looking forward to this build and am sad i cant get it to work. :( What should i try next?
Mobo: MSI x99a sli plus
Cpu: i7 5820k
Cooler: Corsair h60
Gpu: Asus Strix geforce 980ti
Ram: 4x4gb crucial 2133 ddr4
Psu: EVGA supernova 750 b2 (750watt)

There's a reset CMOS button on the side but pressing it hasn't fixed the problem. My motherboard also has a second bios and i tried that but nothing. Should i just return the motherboard or ram?

You will be ok, just be patient and go slowly. I just finally fixed my X99 5820 980 ti build today. From shipping issues since Nov 15, then bios problems and the cooler being too big I'm on my way. I saw a video on YouTube to reset the motherboard he put a small plastic cap with a connector inside over two certain pins on the motherboard.

I think what you should do is call the manufacturer of the motherboard like I did today. The EVGA rep took me through some steps and we figured it out together.
