Hi,

I've been planning to build a new PC, and i really want to know if i'm not over-proportioning some components, and since i don't know if there's any application that can verify that, i would really like some advice.

So here's the potential build :

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K
CPU COOLER: Noctua NH U12P SE2
MOBO: MSI Z87 G45 GAMING
RAM: 2x GSkill RipJaws X 8 Go DDR3 1600 MHz CL9
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 4GB OC
HDD: SSHD Seagate 2 Tera
PSU: Corsair CX 750
CASE: Zalman Z1

I don't really want any overclocking, but i do plan to get another R9 290 for a Crossfire, so you may want to consider as if there's two GPUs from the start.

Please don't hesitate to post any modified build based on this one if you see it more fitting than mine.

Thank you.

If your not overclocking then you can save a few bucks by not getting the unlocked cpu, also you then dont need a Z** mobo which are meant for overclocking and could stick to a cheaper H (make sure it still has the PCI slots you need). Your PSU is not a good choice. For Xfire 290s I would prefer a higher wattage and the corsair CX series isnt trusted by most. Look to Seasonic, XFX, or any other series of Corsair in around 850W

Thanks for the answer, and i would like to know what you think of those alternatives :

MOBO: ASRock H87 Performance
PSU: Corsair RM850 80PLUS Gold or Aerocool Strike X 1100

Then I'll just stick with the MSI (I don't want a Realtek audio chipset anyway), as for the PSU, i think 850W is enough, so the Corsair will do the job.

Any other suggestions ?

Since I've got some problems finding some components, I slightly changed the initial rig, so I would really want to know if it's still the same quality overall and if I didn't make any wrong choice.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K
CPU COOLER: Thermaltake NiC F4 or Corsair H75 Liquid
MOBO: Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 3
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1866MHz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB (Standard)
HDD: SSHD Seagate 2 Tera
PSU: Corsair RM850
CASE: Zalman Z11 Plus

Get 4770, but 212 evo, get a Gigabyte H87 chipset moba, but 2x8 2133MHz Ram, but a WD Black 500GB/1TB HardDrive and buy a 250 Samsung evo SSD. But a 850 G Seasonic/ 850 XFX Pro series PSU and a 300R Case. It all will cost around 1200$.

Thanks for your suggestions, but I'm really not in a place where I can get these, that's why I just wanted to have a second opinion on these changes compared to the first rig.
