Will the pc work alright? Is it worth the money for the parts? And will I need to buy a copy of Windows 7 if I already have a pc that has it?

you can get better parts by arranging the build using pcpartpicker

Yes, its in USD

If I have to buy windows 7 too I'm going to have to wait another couple weeks 🙁

Is the CPU cooler necessary? I was looking at someone else's build that was very similar to the one I was going to try, and it didn't have one.

And thanks for the suggestions

How about this build?

CPU:
AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard

CPU Cooler: None (Do I need one if I'm not going to be overclocking? Can I upgrade it later if I do decide to try overclocking? I have no experience at all with overclocking, just trying to get a decent gaming pc)

Memory:
Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1866MHz DDR3 CL10

Storage:
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card:
Sapphire Radeon R9 270 2GB Dual-X Video Card (looks great, thanks for the suggestion)

Case: Rosewill Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case CHALLENGER-U3 (is there something wrong with this one or did you suggest the other one for the price? I like the looks of it)

Power Supply: Corsair Builder Series CX 430 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS certified Power Suppy (was this supply too weak or did you suggest the 650w one for future upgrades?)

DVD Drive:
Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST

thanks a lot for the help, I'll go for the evga 600w, now I just have to order it when I get my next paycheck :ange:

@Praise: the Windows 7 on my pc was already installed on the pc when I bought it, so I kinda doubted I would be able to use it again, didn't get an install disk with it

Will http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Premium-System-Builder-Packaging/dp/B00H09BB16/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405197889&sr=8-1&keywords=windows+7+home+premium work for the os install? Looks like it should... just want to make sure, I've never installed an operating system so this is all new to me
