Question New PC crashing during GPU stress test

Hello, any advice would be much appreciated.
I just made my first try at building a PC. Everything has gone fine except when I run a gpu stress test, the PC crashes and shuts off completely. I have to turn the power supply off and on to get it to start up.
Here are the specs:
Asus crosshair hero Viii
AMD Ryzen 9 5900
Gigabyte aorus Radeon 6950 XT
Corsair HX1000i
Corsair vengeance pro 32gb

40c, it’s the pretty instantaneous from when I start the test. I have played a couple games with no issues but I tried to open counter strike and it did the same exact thing. It goes through the menu but the second the game starts it crashes the same way

I have the gpu and cpu on a custom cooling lope.

Do you know what BIOS version your motherboard is running? Did you update cpu/gpu/chipset drivers?

I will check the bios. Yes, downloaded the drivers for each.

That means something is tripping a safety on the power supply.

I figured that was a clue, but I’m not sure how to diagnose it. Everything is brand new and I thought 1000 watt was more than enough. Im not sure how to trace this to anything or a way to diagnose it

I would probably say the power supply.

the Corsair hx1000i has single rail and multi rail settings. I changed it to single rail and the problem is gone now.
