I'm going to be making a new system to upgrade my current AMD 5000+ (be) and 8600gt..i have about 750-800 budget .i don't need a Psu as i have a Antec 850watt, no memory because i have the reaper 1066 4gb and no Cpu fan as i have the Zalman 9700..i do need a new monitor i like this one ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236056 )good priced too.
I need motherboard, Cpu, case , video card, mouse-keyboard and hard drive. i need suggestions on what can i get with about $750..i had in mind using some new eggs combos as they help a lot, i was thinking off :

together with ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826153007 ), ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823114010 ) and ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136320 )
sounds good but it goes over my budget for like 70 - 80 buck any other suggestion ill listing....

How do I put this nicely... you've got a crappy budget and you're looking at expensive mouse, keyboard, 780i motherboard...

Look, you can do this with your budget but you need to focus the money on the CPU and GPU, not on the extras.

So, you've got $800 but $120 of it goes to the monitor. Also, I'm going to assume that you will somehow find a way to live with $40 in total for mouse+keyboard, instead of $90. That leaves $660 for MB, CPU, GPU, case, HDD.

Good choice of HDD, by the way, that WD 500GB Caviar Black. Actually, the WD 640GB Caviar Black is a bit faster and costs 14% more ($80 instead of $70) and it's 28% bigger so switch to it, OK?

Also, get a cheaper but still excellent case, this RC-690 for $80:

That leaves $500 for CPU/GPU/MB. Since you have a big and high-quality PSU, it makes sense to get a SLI motherboard and an nVidia card, or a Crossfire motherboard and an ATI card. Mixed combinations or single-slot boards would just waste that PSU and they'd be less future-proof. Mind you, you don't need two video cards for a 19" monitor, but I'll assume you will get something better later.

So, what CPU/MB/GPU can you get for $500... Let's start with the GPU. From the nVidia side, GTS 250 512MB is a good choice indeed at $130. From the ATI side, this HIS HD 4870 512MB at $155 + free STALKER game is faster and better value.

If you get the GTS 250, you need a SLI MB. That's a bit of a problem because these boards tend to stink, but this one is pretty good:
EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i $141

You are left with 500-130-141 for a CPU, which is perfect for a Q9400 ($230)

If you get the HIS HD 4870, you are left with 500-155=$345 for Crossfire MB and CPU. You could get this combo for $310:

Phenom II 940 (comparable to Q9550 in games and to Q9400 in video encoding)
GA-MA790X-UD4P (SB750, AM3/AM2+)

I think the Phenom/HD 4870 solution is better because you get a faster CPU , a faster GPU, upgradability (there will be future CPus for AM3, but not for 750i), a free game, and $30 more left in your pocket. It's also more overclockable, if you're into that. The disadvantage is that you'd have to clean the nVidia drivers properly before installing ATI drivers, or even reinstall Windows.

Actually, reinstall Windows anyway since you're changing the motherboard and CPU.

+1 Great suggestions from aevm, as always.

I think you should also consider going with a Phenom II x3 720 BE. Its going to do almost as well as the 940 and can OC to about the same speed. Most games do not use quad core CPU's anyways, and so you will not see the benefit of getting that extra 4th core unless you do video encoding or play FSX or GTAIV. I think the 720 is better because you have $80 extra to put into a better monitor and/or GPU, and you will see a better result for a gaming rig putting your money there instead. Going with the AM3 Socket also gives you an upgrade path for later AM3 processors, AM2+ will only support processors that come out this year and no later. DDR3 is getting to the point where it is affordable and worth considering for an upgrade path IMO.

Look at doing something like this:
