I upgraded my old pc with an i5 6600 and a ga h110m a mobo and kept same hard drive. It loaded up to everything I had before upgrading. Do I need to go into BIOS and boot it fresh install. If so how do I do that. It's gigabyte mobo

You want to have a fresh install? You can just factory reset it with the built-in windows reset tool thingy. Once it finishes, it will be like you got a new hard drive. One problem with doing this is that after finish reset, you will need to wait a bit more because you need to run the disk cleanup tool to delete the previous windows (or you can just leave it, but it will take a chunk out of your max storage)

i tried the fresh install but it said i couldnt do it because some emr or some letters like that. So i booted it from my hard drive is that ok.

If you can't use the windows reset tool, just get an installation disk or put download and put it on a usb, and you can boot it from the disk or usb.

i did use my usb and it said i couldn't.

What do you mean it said you couldn't?

It was the option where to install windows 10 on like what memory/ storage and i couldn't pick my harddrive or anything else on it. I think i have windows 10 on my hard drive

Have your USB plugged in, and stop your PC. Turn it back on and go into the BIOS (different for each motherboard, mine uses the DEL key.) Go over to a boot tab, and there should be an option to boot from your USB. You can do this, or just change the boot order/priority to your USB, and save and exit changes

I did all of that i got to the windows download stuff. when i clicked install it said to pick what to install on and nothing would work. But i guess its fine because i booted from my harddrive with win10 already on it and everything works fine.

Do you know how to fix it so I can fresh install
