I know how many people already ask about this but I just can’t seen to find out why my PC smells still. After running GTA V for about an hour my pc starts to smell like plastic even though all my components are staying under 80 degrees Celsius. I have nothing overclocked. Stock Ryzen 3 2200g with an rx580 (bottleneck I know). I opened up my system after smelling it but I couldn’t trace down the smell. I don’t think it’s an outlet issue as all my cords are plugged into the wall not an adapter. I do have my monitor overclocked at 144hz but I don’t think that would overheat? Someone help thanks. Oh and the PSU is 500w evga

Solution
Can you try and isolate the smell and see if it is coming from your power supply or elsewhere? The exhaust side of the PSU would likely have a strong indication of this smell, which is where all the power conversion from A/C to D/C is taking place, and likely where a smell like this to exist in most situations.

Are you experiencing any strange things like instability or shutting down unexpectedly? This could be due to a short from a screw or something getting wedged behind the motherboard, or otherwise making contact intermittently.

The only other thing I can think of is that the PCB of your motherboard, RAM or graphics card might have something that was on it that is slowly heating and dissipating off.

This is indeed weird and...

This is indeed weird and could be just about anything. Can you tell what type of chemical it smells like?

Solution
You must stop using your system immediately and open it to check the motherboard physically. If it did smell, then something must have happened there. Have a look on it.

Open system and check it properly whether all wires tied properly with knot. Make sure proper power is supplied. Make sure no short circuit happening. After doing these stuffs turn on.
