So I just built a PC a few hours ago, installed Windows 8.1 from a USB, and after the screen showed "Getting files ready for installation (100%)" The screen went black with the Windows 8.1 logo and below it it says "Scanning and repairing drive: (G: ): 3% Completed"
I am trying to install Windows on an SSD, however I kept two hard drives with important data and plugged them in this computer, one -which I think is the G drive- was actually working normally when I started the PC using it, so I can see if everything was detected by the device manager - it did. Then I started installing windows

Right now it has been 2 hours and 30 minutes since the screen started saying 3%, and there is apparently no progress. The loading circle with the little spheres is moving, though.

Is it normal for the scan to take this long stuck at 3%?

This is a clean Windows install.
My drives are
An SSD on the SATA_0 port -> Where I selected Windows to be installed
A 1TB HDD on the SATA_1 port
A 320GB HDD on the SATA_2 port -> Which was the one that I used to check the device manager.
How long do you think it will take? Should I worry?

Why does it need to repair G: when this should not be involved in installing windows to C:. You may find G: is corrupt now. Strongly suggest you disconnect all but the main C: drive while installing windows as windows is trying to make a system partition on G: and you don't want that . Install on the SSD + updates/drivers, then install the other HDDs and hope the data you wanted kept is still ok

I got around it and found out that I am able to install and start windows correctly with the SSD and the 320GB enabled, but whenever I try to connect the 1TB drive it asks the same, only that this time is saying "scanning and repairing drive (\\?\Volume(-a bunch of numbers and letters-) but it has been still stuck at 3% for over 5 hours now. Is there any way to recover the data, or format the drive in this same computer? Windows gets stuck whenever the drive is plugged, either you try to skip the disk check or you "let it scan and repair"
