I wasn't really sure where to post this, so I decided to go with the Windows 10 section. Feel free to move this thread if it's in the wrong place. Anyway, I recently finished building my new PC; it has an Intel Core i9 9900K processor, 32 gigs of ram, an ASUS TUF Z390-Plus Gaming motherboard, a 1TB Samsung SSD, and an Nvidia GTX 970 (plan on upgrading soon). Ever since I've gotten my PC up and running, however, I've been noticing some weird things. For one thing, there will be spikes in CPU usage, sometimes coming from Malwarebytes, sometimes coming from Discord (up to 25%), and other times coming from WMI Provider host. There will be sometimes where I'm not doing much of anything and the CPU usage will go up to 70% to 100%. Sometimes even Discord will go past 15% CPU usage, which is highly unusual.
But this issue comes and goes, the issue that seems to be most persistent issues is that certain tasks will take a long time to load, often 15 to 45 seconds. These tasks include opening the save as dialogue box from my browser, clicking on a link from other apps (such as Discord), and launching a game. None of these tasks ever took so long on my old computer, so I'm thinking something has to be wrong. I've done a bit of troubleshooting, downloaded Samsung Magician to make sure my SSD was in good health (which it is, it's only one or two years old) and I'm currently trying to mess around with some other apps and see if there are any other issues that I'm not noticing.
At the moment, it only seems to be these three things, the one game I downloaded after reinstalling Windows works just fine after I launch it, but it's not a very resource heavy game, so I'm currently downloading more to see if any other issues arise. I've been told by a couple people that it could be an I/O controller issue, which I really hope is not the case; I've already had to send this motherboard back to repair some bent pins in the CPU sockets, I really don't want to have to send it back again. Someone also suggested to me that I should try reinstalling Windows 10, but since I only just reinstalled it a couple weeks ago, I couldn't see what good this would do.
So if anyone here has any ideas for how I might be able to fix this issue before resorting to the nuclear option, I'd really appreciate it.
