Hello

I got a prebuild PC, but after looking in the motherboard manual I'm unsure if the machine is running the memory in dual channel..

Do I not need to use slot A2 and B2 to run dual channel?
I can see the memory is in slow A1 and B1 now..

But when looking in the BIOS I see this:

It says dual-channel, so I am running dual??

Motherboard: Asrock B450 pro4

Solution

It looks to me like it is running Dual Channel, in which case there is no reason to move them and they will not suffer in performance.
Yes it is running in dual mode according to the BIOS. However as you have pointed out the board manufacturer does suggest slots A2 & B2.

If access is easy then i would suggest you move them to those slots as advised.

Another way you can check is download CPU-Z Here and switch to the memory TAB. It will say there whether its running single or dual mode.

Thank you for the reply..

would it be any problems running it like this?

I got 8 prebuilds, with memory in the "wrong" slot.. So I would like to avoid moving the memory around on all of em..
