Dear all
PLEASE NOTE: I'm not willing to spend more than £110 on the CPU upgrade
I want to upgrade my processor from a Pentium G640 to either an Intel core i3 3220 or core i5 I5 3350P. I need this upgrade to make my PC relatively future proof machine for day to day computing and gaming on medium settings. I need the PC to stay snappy for at least 2-3 years from now.
I have three questions:
Is it even worth upgrading the CPU? (should i instead spend the money on an SSD?)
Will my GPU bottleneck either of these 2 CPU's?
Will I need the power of a core i5?
System Info:
CPU: Dual Core sandy bridge Pentium G640
GPU: XFX R7 250
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333 MHZ RAM
HD: Seagate Baracuda 7200 Rpm 500GB
MoBo: Fujitsu Motherboard
Optical Drive: Generic DVD/RW Drive
PSU: XFX TS 450W
