I recently upgraded my processor from a i3 to an i5 4690k in order to help boost frame rate on my games. But I'm not noticing slower loading on all games and loading Windows itself. I had troubles instilling the processor at the start as the screen would be blank once I installed it. I had to update the motherboard which is a Asus h81m-e. I got the processor to display and now this issues has arised. I'm not looking to over clock I just wanted to see a big improvement from my upgrade. Would it be wise to hold out till my new gpu shows up. Which is a gtx 750 ti. Or is there something I'm missing thanks in advance for the help.

Solution
There's no reason a 4690K should run slower than any i3. It has higher single- and multi-threaded performance.

Download and run CPU-Z (standalone, not the installer) and report back what your clockspeeds are when stress testing or running games.

No nothing like that just new processor and power supply. Well at the moment at least.

I'm not sure wether the processor needs an update but the update system for Intel is a nightmare or if I should commit to re installing Windows.

Will do appreciate the help.

My bench speed is roughly around 470 and stress speed is around the 1700 range. My current graphics card is a gt 640 and I'll be install a gtx 750 ti tomorrow so hopefully it improves the performance.
