Hi all,

Sorry if I’m repeating; with the shortage of psu’s I’ve seen online, are new versions featuring this 12 pin for Ampere cards is coming out in the near future? It seems strange so many are sold out, I’m wondering if it is just because of Covid or is there a new model on the horizon. What do you all think?

Solution
It is worth pointing out that for the reference cards Nvidia will be including an adapter for 2X 8 pin cables to the 12 pin socket so no need to worry if your PSU have 2X 8 pins then you will be fine as far as connectors are concerned!

Plus if your PC is modular chances are all you would need is a cable and not a new PSU. Even at that as has been said an adapter for 8 pin connectors will be available and will suffice. However NVidia have released not so much a required PSU wattage but a recommended wattage, 650W for 3070, 750W for 3080 and 850W for 3090. MSI have already listed new PSU's for these cards at these wattages if money is not an obstacle. I would wait and at least try out a psu @ 650W or above if that is what you have unless you are buying a 3090. If your psu is smaller than 650W maybe you might want to consider a new PSU.
