new psu not my pc wont boot at all

i bought a evga 750w g2 from newegg. I got it yesterday hooked everytng up. now boot -_-. I figured out that when i connect the psu to the wall it makes a sound like its getting electricity but when i hit power it makes a short noise and then nothing happens. I've tried using my old power supply which did not work and that was weird since it worked like a hour before. I just want to get some opinions on what happened i didn't mess with anything except the psu. I think the board got fried.

Did you plug in the CPU power plug (4+4 pin) to the board as well as the main connector?

try the simplest thing first

plug it into a different wall socket

Did you accidentially unplug the front panel connectors?
Is the 24 pin power cable completely in the socket?
Are the cables on the other end (in the psu) connected?

no the front panel connects are still all plugged in the way they were when i built this pc months ago. im pretty sure its in it clicked when i pushed it in i pushed it in a lot to make sure it was in. ya there in securely.

Does the PSU work on other computers?
Maybe a stupid question, but is the PSU turned on?

its not the psu ive tried 2 differnt psus
