Hi there, I recently installed two 512mb RAM modules from Kingston to my existing two 512mb of RAM. Instead of showing up as 2GB, it still shows up as 1 GB.

The two RAM sticks I installed has the specs:
-240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM/DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)
-1.8V
-Cas Latency 5

My current ram before I installed the two RAM modules has the specs:
DDR2 PC2-4300
266 MHz (DDR2 533)
Memory timings 3-3-3-9-12 at 200MHz at 1.8v
Memory timings 4-4-4-12-16 at 266MHz at 1.8v
Memory timings 5-4-4-12-16 at 266MHz at 1.8v

Are the RAM incompatible or is there another problem?

*btw, is it possible to install DDR2 RAM backwards in the slot?

Nvm, I've fixed the problem. Apparently the motherboard in this PC has a retarded way of installing RAM.

You need to leave the lock clips open to push it in 80%, then actually close the lock clips to nudge and forcefully push it in the remaining 20% of the way.

So even though I had locked the RAM with the clips, it still wasn't 100% in, - I had to forcefully push it in after the clips was locked to totally install the RAM.

Now everything works fine.
