I'm not sure if I should get a ram kit or a single module. Single modules are actually cheaper but I've heard that using dual channel would be faster. My PC would be mainly be used for gaming. So would the ram have much effect on gaming performance? And also, would 8gb of ram be sufficient for the next 5 years or should I go with 16gb?

Yes, You defiantly want to go for a matched pair of memory's, and since these are built for dual channel - Yes.

"So would the ram have much effect on gaming performance?"
It depends, what games we are talking about, but in general You will need a lot of ram, but today: there are no games except Battlefield Hardline that req. more than 6GB
Believe that?

"And also, would 8gb of ram be sufficient for the next 5 years or should I go with 16gb? "
The short answer is No.16GB! Do you want the long answer?
