I have one stick of ddr4 ram (8gb 2133) I Wanted to buy new one. But the Manufacture only sold 2 stick. So I bought ram from a different manufacture.(Same size same speed)

It didn't work. My PC didn't even notice it was there no crash, no blue screen no nothing. Took it out put it back. Still nothing.

Could it be...
*They sticks are not compatible
*I broke the pins on the bottom(i was struggling to put it in the first time because I couldn't see what I was during since my motherboard is micro atx meaning the cpu cooler and old ram were blocking my sight, i looked at the stick it looks fine)
*Bad memory slot on board
Or anything else?

Should I buy a whole new set of 2 sticks.

Solution
First, memory sold in kits of 2x or 4x are the only memory modules guaranteed to work together because they are tested at the memory factory together. Even if you buy the exact same model of individual modules separately, they may not work. There are many reasons for this like microscopic variations in the silicon of different production lines. This intolerance of individual modules not playing nice with each other has been on the increase since DDR3.

Second, make sure the memory is on your motherboards QVL (qualified vendor list). Memory on that list was tested by the motherboard to work. Of course that doesn't mean others won't work that are not on the list. It just means they were never tested at the motherboard factory.
