Hi - desperate for some advice on this. Been scratching my head down to bone, tweaking and tuning with no results.
Just replaced a 2060 RTX (non super) with a beastly MSI 2080 RTX super x trio and... well, it's really not smashing the 60fps mark as I'd hoped at 1440p on ultra settings.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider hovers around 65-68 fps.
Total Warhammer 2 = 55 fps
Battlefield V = 57 fps
Hitman 2 = 70-80 fps
Deus Ex MD = 72 fps
Apex Legends (144! But not a taxing game)
And Red Dead Redemption 2, which I really had my fingers crossed to get it over the 60 fps line at close to ultra settings, barely scratches 45 fps.
Don't get me wrong, those scores aren't horrible, but my new card should eat AAA games for breakfast at 1440p at highest settings, according to most benchmarks out there. Anyone agree this doesn't look like it's firing on all pistons? Could it be the CPU? RAM?
Spec:
QHD 1440p 144hz monitor
Processor (CPU) AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.35GHz/20MB CACHE/AM4)
Motherboard Gigabyte B450 AORUS ELITE: DDR4, USB 3.1 - RGB Ready
Memory (RAM) 16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (2 x 8GB) Upgrading to 3000mhz tonight
