New Ryzen 7 2700 - Prime B350-Plus Setup isn’t working

Specifications:
GPU - Stock GeForce 980TI
CPU - Ryzen 7 2700
Motherboard - ASUS Prime B350-Plus
RAM - 2 x 8GB Corsair DDR4MHz Vengeance LPX
PSU - 450W

I’ve just finished building a system from scratch and everything is working, except from no video output (from GPU, I know that there is no integrated on this mobo/cpu) and the USB’s (no keyboard/mouse detected). The CPU fan, GPU fan, case fans are fine, the hard drive spins up.

On this system the OS is on a SSD, but I wouldn’t think that this would be the problem since the HDD works.

I’ve tried various cables, VGI, DVI and HDMI using two monitors and I haven’t got anything.

One question I have (other than sorting out the whole mess) is if it is possible to know the BIOS version from the sticker on the motherboard. This mobo has the number 3203 at the end of the sticker and I think if is in fact the BIOS version, the website “https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-B350-PLUS/HelpDesk_CPU/“ says that if my BIOS number is lower, I need to update the BIOS. But this only works/makes sense if that barcode is in fact the BIOS number.

Please help!

Thanks in advance,
Michael

I'd reach out to ASUS for a more definitive answer, but odds are you're going to need an older Ryzen processor to update the BIOS in order to accept the new 2700. The older B350 boards don't have the support built into the BIOS as the newer ones likely will.

After looking at the link you posted, you'd need version 3803 in order to use that 2700. A flash is likely going to be required for you. As before, contact ASUS to be absolutely sure.

Hi Michael,

I'm having *exactly* the same problem / symptoms on my HW setup (ASUS PRIME B350 PLUS + Ryzen 7 2700). Did you manage to find a temporary replacement for the CPU and update BIOS to get it working?
