Question New SSD really hot wont show in bios

Hello all, I recently bought a new SSD. When I installed it I made sure everything was hooked up correctly. When I booted up my PC I went straight into bios to see if it was found. No luck. So I went to double check my connections and My SSD is burning hot! With only like 5 mins of being on. Would this be a bad SSD or a bad power supply? On only mention the power supply because I did take a good drive from my gaming PC and it would not show up either... thoughts??

AMD 1600, 120gb m.2, asrock B450 motherboard, 980ti and a corsair 750 modular power supply.
Currently the m.2 is the only working drive. (OS only installed)

Some M.2 slots are NVME only, some are NVME or SATA. some might be SATA only.

Knowing which you have ('m.2' is not enough) will help, along with knowing which of the M.2 slots you are installing it in...

Was your "good drive" still OK afterwards? Did you use the power cables that came with the power supply, or have you mixed cables between the two PSUs?

What is the model number of the new SSD?
