Hi Guys,

Would love your opinion on which system build to go with. I've already done a fair bit of research on hardware but could still use some more input. The intended purpose for the system will be for video editing (so I'm leaning towards the 5820K for the extra cores) but I will be gaming on it and I do love dat 4K, plus recording/editing music and general uni work stuff. I'm after speed and reliability, like if you want to suggest a part that would be more reliable or less likely to fail then please do. Was going with water cooling for cpu but I heard the fans on the Corsair H series are quite loud and you get a fair bit of dust on the radiator (going by one of Linus's videos) so I changed to air cooling...(oh and any other suggestion to keep pc cool would be awesome and dust free....I won't be O.C).

Here's the question, Which one Should I go with (See Below)?

CPU
Intel i7-4790K vs Intel Core i7 5820K ($472/$539)

Solution
the only difference between the evga and corsair psus is that the corsair is platinum not gold and that the corsair is $80 more expensive other than that they are both tier 1 so are reliable and both 750w
had to lose the sli but this should last a long time as it is highly upgradeable with a 40 lane cpu the possibility to add up to 4 gpus all running at x16 and also able to upgrade to 32gb of ram or more if you swap the current set

for the same price this would perform better but i could build one which would perform the same as each of your build for less if that would be your preference

Wow yeah that would be awesome if I could get it for that price here (locally) but I'm in Aus....and it's much more pricey here lol (I got the prices from local pc store websites). But thanks for the build Qwerty987123 :). I wanted to keep it under 4K, if I got that build here it would be well over.

I was actually comparing the EVGA 80+ and The Corsair PSU, the EVGA has decent review too but one of mates was saying to go with the Cosair one because it was meant to be more reliable....but yeah I'm leaning towards the EVGA too.

Wow, that's a mean build 😀. The Asus mobo has some good features but I was trying to stay away from Asus because I had some bad warranty (& customer service) issues with some of their products. Also I like the MSI's on board sound card, seems to have good reviews on that and apparently from what I've heard they have good customer service. How's the WD blue in terms of reliability, I was leaning towards the black since most of the WD blacks came up as the most reliable and had good reviews in terms of reliability (I don't mind paying extra for reliability), also I have one on my current system. I like the Ram choice it has good rating and decent price especially for DDR 4. Is the 5930K really worth the $ value compared to the 5820K for performance?
