New system build, need some advice...

Hello, I'm currently building a new system.

This is what I'm on right now:
CPU - E8400 / Q6600 (still deciding)

Motherboard - thought of one of them: EP45-DS3R, EP45C-DS3R, EP45-UD3R, EP45C-UD3R

Does the UD3P worth the extra $? or one of those will do the job perfectly? which one is recommended?

VGA - probably going for the HD4850, I read that it definitely worth the extra cash over the 9800gt

Memory 2*2GB of the OCZ 800mhz

Hard disk something around the Seagate 500GB

Case the beautiful Antec 900

Cooler not sure yet, probably the big typhoon, any good suggestions? i'd be glad to have something cheaper that will do the job.

PSU one of the following brands: corsair, enermax, thermaltake the cheapest possible that I can trust...

The UD3P is worth it. Best P45 board I know, and it's future-proof since it supports Crossfire and you're getting a Crossfire card.

Forget the "C" models. Dual DDR2/DDR3 support is pointless, since you can't use both types at the same time. Why dump the DDR2 and replace it with DDR3 when that makes no difference in speed.

Get WD disks, preferably the 640GB version. Seagate is flaky at this point.

Get a Corsair 650W. That will allow Crossfire with HD 4850 cards, and it's very high quality.

Between E8400 and Q6600 - get the Q6600 if you play FSX or GTA 4 or encode videos often.

can you be more specific please, why the UD3P is better than the DS3R and the UD3R?

will the corsair 450w hold my system? or should i go bigger like the thermaltake 550w or the corsair 520w??

If you're not planning to use Crossfire then the UD3R is actually a better choice IMO than the UD3P because it has 3 PCI slots instead of 2. Both are excellent overclockers. The UD3P's second PCI-E x16 slot could however be useful if you ever want to use 3 or 4 monitors. (That is, with the UD3P you can add a $30 card and connect it to monitors 3 and 4)

The DS3R is OK too. However, I'd stick with the newer models UD3P or UD3R. They have better cooling and more SATA ports.

Yes the Corsair 450W can do the job. Sapphire recommends 450W or more for a system with a HD 4850, and the Corsair 450W is very powerful for a 450W PSU. That is, it offers more A on the 12V circuit than most other PSUs that claim 450W.

If you get a retail version of the CPU and don't overclock then you don't even need to buy an aftermarket cooler, of course.

will my ud3r mobo and the q6600 be good for overclocking in the future?

the nine hundred case doesn't have any fan filters? is that important? can I buy them and put them in?
any good suggestion for cases for the same price?

Tempest instead.

Saphire is more reputable as a GPU brand, but it probably doesn't make too much of a difference. Check the warranty info and prices and go with the better deal, both will be compatible with your system and will be the same size.

Making your own filters: TBH I have no idea how. I just remember reading about it in some Newegg reviews.
