Good Morning!

I just finally bought myself some shiny new parts and was excited to build the PC.
Turned off my old PC and began replacing parts...
Everything worked out great... no issues when building. I have built many pcs in my lifetime and know what to do.
Besides that i only replaced Mobo CPU and Ram.
I just cant seem to figure out what the problem with this one is... i begin to think my new CPU or Motherboard are defective....

Motherboard: Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX --> Rev1.0
CPU: AMD 7800x3d
Graphics: MSI GTX 1080 Founders
RAM: Kingston Fury 64 GB 6000Mt/s CL36 (2x32 Gb)

On power up, i get NO Post.
Screen turns on but stays black.
Motherboard Debug LED goes to "CPU" and is stuck there. It doesnt even try anything else. No Memory no VGA nothing.
I was surprised to find that my shiny new motherboard didnt have a Debug screen. So no Debug codes for me... only the Debug LED stuck at CPU.

I am not able to Turn off the PC via the Power Button after turning it on.
After all that I installed the newest bios via USB using the Gigabyte QFlash Plus (No need for CPU or RAM)... Sadly that didnt change anything.

YES i checked all the cables and made shure that all of them are plugged in correctly.
I did reseat all the cables again and also did a reaseat on CPU and RAM.
I tried both of the CPU Power 8 Pins individually. (only thing i didnt try is both at once because i dont have 2x8 Pin CPU Power cables)
Tried it only with one Stick on all of the Ram Slots.

i am at a loss here...
no idea what to try next... are my new parts really defective?

Please if anyone got an idea on what to try.. help me :)
Thank you very much!

Don't need both 8pin eps, one is enough. The other is optional if intending to oc.

Only thing left to check really is if you accidentally bent cpu pins placing it in the socket.

If no bent pins are found then consider rma. Both motherboard and cpu.

Case standoffs are correctly placed yea?

Hey boju!

Thanks for the quick answer.
Sadly i already checked if there are any bent pins..
All looks fine in there. Standoffs are also correct.
CPU pads also look great. in fact i cant see any marks...?
Maybe the pins are not touching the cpu because of a faulty socket on the mobo?

I am going to take everything out of the case and test the components on the table again.
if that still doesnt help it seems like i gotta RMA brand new parts ...

Would have loved to test a different cpu first... sadly i dont know anyone with ryzen 7000 chips

Thanks!

Did you use parts from the old build and put them in the new build? If so what parts?
Everything except CPU Mobo and Ram.

Yesterday i took everything out of the case.
Only plugged in 24 Pin and cpu 8 Pin
still nothing.
Did the same with my old Motherboard and CPU (7700k and Asus Apex board)
Instant post....

Seems like one of the two is dead..
CPU or Board.

Thanks

Hey there Garret!

I tested everything again on the motherboard box.
The only "old" parts i used there were the PSU and some GPUs.

But i didnt test with one PSU..
I tested multiple different "known good" powersupplys.
They got plenty power left.
900w nitrox, seasonic Prime Titanium 850w (3 Years old), and some others.
MSI GTX 1080 Founders, 1050 Ti, 1060

Didnt have any newer GPUs to test.
All of these parts work great when i plug them into the old motherboard.

Thanks for all the help everyone.
I already contacted customer support at the onlineshop.
They let me send back the CPU and Motherboard for free and will test it themselfes again.
When they find the same results i get new parts.

Thanks!
